Another local paper reporter in September 1906 described the happenings with the following words:

...disgraceful intermingling of the races...they cry and make howling noises all day and into the night. They run, jump, shake all over, shout to the top of their voice, spin around in circles, fall out on the sawdust blanketed floor jerking, kicking and rolling all over it. Some of them pass out and do not move for hours as though they were dead. These people appear to be mad, mentally deranged or under a spell. They claim to be filled with the spirit. They have a one eyed, illiterate, Negro as their preacher who stays on his knees much of the time with his head hidden between the wooden milk crates. He doesn't talk very much but at times he can be heard shouting, 'Repent,' and he's supposed to be running the thing... They repeatedly sing the same song, 'The Comforter Has Come.

The main point is that not only did the national newspapers take an interest in the Azusa Street Revival, the Azusa Street Revival had their own newspaper called "The Apostolic Faith".

There are no reports of God healing an amputee in any of the newspapers at all.

I suppose that if you believe in a virgin birth and rising from the dead, everything else is quite easy to believe.

Let's see what the "Revival Library" http://www.revival-library.org/pensketches/am_pentecostals/seymourazusa.html the official story of the movement, has to say about the movement

At almost precisely 5:12 a.m., local time, on April 18, 1906, an earthquake foreshock rudely awakened San Francisco Bay Area residents and it was followed by a massive earthquake about 20 to 25 seconds later, with its epicentre near San Francisco.
[...]
At the time angry men and women, predictably, blamed God. Indeed, within hours a gospel tract, was printed and widely circulated in the area, calling the tragedy a judgment and a warning from the God some were cursing.

But that earthquake could have had another cause. In Romans 8:19-21 the apostle Paul declares that ‘The creation waits in eager expectation for the sons of God to be revealed. For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the glorious freedom of the children of God.’

[...]This marked the beginning of the beginning of the Pentecostal Church. Thousands of pastors and leaders from all over the world visited this place of divine visitation, ...

Another "End of the World" delusion, but absolutely nothing about any "miracles".
