Just want to tell you how great your website is. It sometimes feels lonely knowing
that out of my dozens of friends I am one of the very few rationalists (a term I
began using after watching an episode of Bill Maher, but now know that you use this
term as well). I have been a rationalist ever since I could remember. I was the only
kid in kindergarten who didn't believe in Santa Claus or the Easter Bunny because of
simple objective reasoning. Just because gifts showed up under the tree didn't mean
a man in a sleigh was riding above the world every Christmas, nor did it mean
zombies were breaking in and giving kids gifts. All it meant was that the gifts were
there, and they got there from a perfectly logical reason. I'm 22 now and as
rational as ever
But I digress... Just wanted to say that anytime I have a conversation with a
religious person I ALWAYS send your website to them so they may take a look and
understand where I am coming from. You represent everything good about being a
rational, scientific thinker. I hear too many atheists and anti-religious people
saying they hate religion or god because they think they are evil....rather than not
believing in religion or god because of scientific evidence disproving them. Too
many people let emotions get in the way rather than explaining that there is as
little reason to believe in god as there is to believe in leprachauns, zombies,
unicorns, and dragons.
