« on: April 27, 2009, 05:02:07 PM »

In all sincerity, this site has helped me "recover from my delusion."

Thank you very much.

Another one for the "people who were helped" thread. :)

OP, we've got a nice forum going here if you ever want to talk to likeminded people.

The whole point of science is that most of it is uncertain. That's why science is exciting--because we don't know. Science is all about things we don't understand. The public, of course, imagines science is just a set of facts. But it's not.  Freeman Dyson

Good for you, feels good doesn't it?

It always does my "soul" good to know that somewhere out there is a person who was lead away from religion, just simply by a humble internet site like this one. :)

I've noticed that no matter how many registered users on on the forum, whenever I glance at the numbers there has always been more visitors than registered users.
How do you define soul?

In all sincerity, this site has helped me "recover from my delusion."

More good folks are out there.   Here's a short list;

* Ex-Christian - "This site is designed with the intention of encouraging ex-Christians, former Christians, de-converting Christians and other non-believers in the decision to live life based on rational thought rather than religious mythology."

* de-conversion - "This blog attempts to critically, but respectfully, address issues with ... religious ideologies, especially Christianity."

* The WWGHA and GII web sites have other resources beyond the forums;

  50 (51, 52, ...) simple proofs:

* The WWGHA short list of excellent pages;

* YouTube Video channels;

* Atheism blogs, videos, and places to socialize; -- text blogs -- many groups (new; 87 groups) -- many more groups (established; 363 groups and many members)

* The Atheist Experience TV show; -- Out of Austin TX with many back episodes -- The best short clips from the show

* Podcasts and other audio programs;

The history of religion is a long attempt to reconcile old custom with new reason, to find a sound theory for an absurd practice.  --Sir James George Frazer
