Good work [#1291]
« on: April 19, 2009, 03:54:15 PM »

I agree with Harris and Dawkins. This is great stuff and necessary.
Humanists need to organize
and show the boneheads up for what they are. Congratulations!

Let's start by issuing fliers and calling them all boneheads! Woohoo!!!!

I frequently call them boneheads, even some (christian) members of my own family.

The memory of my own suffering has prevented me from ever shadowing one young soul with the superstition of the Christian religion.

I call them knowitalls, because they claim the bible has all the answers in the world. My dad's entry in my cellphone is Pastor Knowitall.

I edit a lot of my posts. The reason being it to add content or to correct grammar/wording. All edits to remove wording get a strike through through the wording.

Look, the only word that anyone should be using for anyone is "idiot". Why? 'Cause it fits everyone.

OP replies via email:

That's what we have to decide. Have we been too careful and too nice to
those around us who believe in the great magical power fairy in the sky?
Good arguments are better than name-calling any day. But, on the other
hand, who can reason with a faithhead? Perhaps a little disrespect would
be the incentive some of them need to take their minds to the cleaners.

Humanists and atheists have remained silent too long. And this only
helps those who are busy trying to foist organized ignorance on all of
us. We must let go of the traditional respect for religion--a respect
that most of us have shown even though we may not be believers. Faith
should not be exempt from rational scrutiny. Reason is uniquely human.
Reason is what defines us. If we don't have it, or we don't use it, we
are being something less than fully human.

You'll get no argument here.
