1) I've already answered 1 on your comment.
2) I'm a bad salesperson, I can't even sell a pair of shoes on Ebay for 99c.
If you read the whole matthew parable that contains that verse, you'll find it's the parable of the rich young man and
19:21 14, is only applicable to rich people, not everyone.
I would go without money no problem, but that fact is, to live, to eat, to sleep to wash and even to travel and communicate, money is NECESSARY.
You can't sell a 3 bedroom house, you need to put a roof over your family's head and keep you warm. You have to take out a mortgage because you have too little money to pay it all at once. You need a car to get to work and back so you can earn money and take care of your family, even if you DO sell your possesions, you'd sell them at a car boot sale, what do you need to pitch at a car boot sale, that's right a CAR.
3)When Jesus says give up your family, that's only for the 12 disciples who come from rich families where they aren't needed as bread winners, and them not leaving their families will spend the rest of their lives being pampered by their parents instead of moving out, being independant and earning their own living.
4) You're obviously not quoting the whole verse in the bible you're taking it out of context, here's what he's REALLY saying.
"You should remove everything that causes you to sin, if your hand causes you to sin, cut off your hand"
In other words, ONLY cut off your hand if your hand is the prime reason for you breaking the commandments.
It's an example of how far a christian should go to stop themselves from sinning.
Oh wait you've already made that point yourself in -Matthew 5: 27-30, what am I talking about?
Adultery is not adultery unless you act on it. Looking at a pretty women is not adultery, watching porno or going to strip clubs IS adultery.
5)Christians don't have to drink poison, it's optional.
