I would be if President McCain were in office.  Or President Romney.

Of course, if either of them were in office, we'd be too wrapped up in wars with Iran, Syria, Pakistan and China to care much about Ukraine.  Though, as Romney did say Russia was our biggest "geoplitical foe"[1], we might well have already been at war with Russia too...

Europe and the US (NATO) will not go to war with Russia over Ukraine. Russia has oil. Ukraine does not. Europe and the US need oil. Sucks to be Ukraine.

Cynical, but true.  :(

I've always felt there was a world of truth in Sting's song Russians.
And I'm old enough to remember the last time the Russians were supposed to destroy the planet 'any second now'.

Personally, I'm more concerned with North Korea and the tensions between Israel and Iran.

I think Putin is smart enough to know just how much he can get away with without forcing NATO to respond with military force.

Pakistan and India also make me nervous. The Afgani border area is such a mess that it is destabilizing Pakistan.....and both have nuclear weapons. :o

Despite all the posturing from Putin he is, ultimately, rational and even if things get considerably more violent in the Ukraine (or the Baltic states, where NATO is doing some posturing of its own) it is unlikely to lead to nuclear war.

However, the Israel/Iran, Pakistan/India tensions are based on religious divides and it only takes one of their leaders to decide that martyring their own country in order to kill the unbelievers to ignite a nuclear conflict.
Stupidity, unlike intelligence, has no limits.
