I learned about the WWII canine brigade dogs. I almost lost it when I learned that dogs were trained to carry live grenades into the enemy barracks.

 Doggie suicide bombers.

For some reason that seems even more immoral than training humans to be suicide bombers. I guess it is because dogs trust their trainers and try so hard to please them. Those dog trainers-- who had to have established relationships with the dogs-- must have had major psychological problems after doing that.  :'(
Extraordinary claims of the bible don't even have ordinary evidence.

Kids aren't paying attention most of the time in science classes so it seems silly to get worked up over ID being taught in schools.

I can't bring myself to read about it. I'll never stop crying.  :'(

I sincerely hope for the best for that poor dog. :'(

I'm starting to get depressed, so here's some good news I thought I'd share:

https://www.facebook.com/pages/Find-Tango-Lacey/570009143095289

I've become friends with Nicole over the past, two months after I had become emotionally involved with her trying to track down a missing dog (Lacey) near where I live (I had spotted her the day after she had escaped).

Long story short, after close to two months on the run, Nicole finally managed to recover her and get her the medical help she needed (she tested positive for Lyme and has a torn ACL).

What makes Nicole such a wonderful person in my book is that she not only dedicates her life to helping find lost animals, but sometimes does so out of her own pocket as she did with Lacey (her owner "lost interest" and is refusing anything to do with her).

The only thing bigger than the universe is humanity's collective sense of self-importance.

Dogs, what are they good for? Absolutely nothing.

And just like my dog, me thinks your bark is worse than your bite. :P

What's that old saying...? Dogs have owners. Cats have staff. ;D

I bit a dog once but he deserved it, he bit me first. I am the staff to my cat but that's okay.

I have to disagree with the OP, because we recently bought the prettiest puppy in the world.

Well, perhaps the naughtiest. But he is pretty cute and we've all fallen in love with "Kenobi".

He's an English Springer Spaniel, currently 10 weeks old.

Here he is, guarding me from the perils of suburbia:

^^^Kenobi is pretty cute, agreed. Still growing into his paws, from what that image shows.

Nope...my puppy is definitely the prettiest. Even though he really barely qualifies as a dog. But he sure is a cute piece of fluff...

I showed Kenobi the photo of your dog. He barked 8 times. That's 8 out of 10. We've taught him to analyse and provide feedback this way.

He barks 10 times whenever he sees a bible. Damn puppy is a genius.

Those are some absolutely adorable doggies! They almost qualify for the title of "Prettiest puppy in the world, which my Elle has won 8 years in a row. L ;D

She also has this utterly endearing way of greeting me with "happy pee" whenever I come home from work....

I seem to be having problems posting photos... I had created a Yahoo group where I had uploaded them, but when inserting the link with the "Insert Image" tab, nothing happens. Any idea what I am doing wrong?

You sure about that? Look closer at Hickdive's photo. He has a giant black dildo displayed in his living room.
