Dearie me, Biblegod's PA department really should alert him to this sort of thing.

If your god cannot physically appear before us, then it is imaginary.

It's as simple as that.

Well they *are* execution instruments, right?
I always say what I mean. But sometimes I'm a sarcastic prick whose tone can't be properly communicated via text.

30m tall crucifix weighing 600kg? Seems perfectly reasonable. There are people starving to death, but, sure, waste money on graven images. This is obviously not a sign from YHWH or whatever.

Everybody has to sacrifice something somewhere.

John 14:2 :: In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

"That cross was a great symbol for Italy, a symbol of protection. But all that seems silly in the face of this terrible tragedy."

God needed him in heaven STAT!!!

Why else would he allow a gigantic statue of Jesus dedicated to the a Pope who is soon to be declared a Saint fall and crush him instantly?

Or it was a Mafia hit.

and

Maybe next time they will ask the Italian auto engineers to design the statue?

There's a huge cross in the city I grew up in outside Orlando, here's an article on it from 2008 at freerepublic: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1996121/posts

$1 million? Seems perfectly reasonable. That's enough for one family to live fairly well for the rest of their lives. Better waste it on a useless cross!

It is covering an antenna but that's still no excuse. It clearly breaks county laws yet it got a special permit.
