Why am I reminded of the Taliban and the Ayatollahs?

The replies are so over the top that it's almost a spoof.
When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle. Then I realised that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me.

Well, if they are going to go down that road, they should start by killing yours truly. I'm old, so as long as they've had a fresh diaper change, they can probably catch me. It would do wonders for their morale, and for a few minutes, it would get them away from Faux News so that they could get a glimpse of reality. Plus I'm a bleeding heart liberal so there would be lots of blood. A necessity when money isn't involved.

But remember, without god, we would not have morality!
Being a Christian, I've made my decision. That decision offers no compromise; therefore, I'm closed to anything else.

Violence begets violence. Their "faith" was brought with violence, so these gutless replies don't faze me.

According to Poe's law, with out a winky face  ;)  you can't really tell the difference between the real crazies and the spoofs.

This is why when Christians say to us, "I love you" we know they're full of shit.

This thread is about lab-grown dicks, not some mincy, old, British poof of an actor.

Let's get back on topic, please.

It's just condescending piety because they  resort to when they don't have anything further to offer. Theists yap and yap and yap and yap; just trying to define God into existence. Air doesn't need such things. Stone doesn't need such things. Real things don't need to be defined into existence, until you get to subatomic particles and primal physical forces. By the time you've gotten to such things, bronze age mythological figures have been left long behind. The only thing possible is the Deist god..which is just a god of the gaps.
An Omnipowerful God needed to sacrifice himself to himself (but only for a long weekend) in order to avert his own wrath against his own creations who he made in a manner knowing that they weren't going to live up to his standards.

And you should feel guilty for this. Give me money.

The "Bless You" statement has become a reflex, not one of those individuals stop and communicate with God to ask him to intervene on your behalf.

Most times people say "I'll pray for you" is right after I tell them I'm an Atheist. I say don't waste your time and even explain sometimes, but they still can't understand how I don't believe in their magic.
When you do things right, people won't be sure you've done anything at all.
