Dreher opines on what ought to be done about ghosts.

I have a couple of friends in town whose houses are haunted. I know the identities of the ghosts — indeed, I am a direct descendant of one of them.
...
Should we tolerate their presence, or should we try to help them move on?

How in the world does he propose helping them move on?  What form of Russian Orthodox magic does he intend to imploy to evict the ghosts?

the guy is an embarrassment.

This thread is about lab-grown dicks, not some mincy, old, British poof of an actor.

Let's get back on topic, please.

Extraordinary claims of the bible don't even have ordinary evidence.

Kids aren't paying attention most of the time in science classes so it seems silly to get worked up over ID being taught in schools.

The Church Lady Rod returns to the Japanese ghosts via an op-ed by Ross Douthat the Asshat.  If I read him correctly, Asshat suggests that there is a magical spirit world all around us and the only thing keeping it hidden from our eyes is secularism.  We don't see it because we've trained ourselves to not see it.

http://www.theamericanconservative.com/dreher/the-religious-way-of-knowing/

the guy he quotes, Taylor, suggests that people experienced the world in a different, enchanted way.  But I think experienced is the wrong word. Interpreted, I think is correct.  It is not that people actually experienced possesion or spirits, it is that they interpreted an experience as being those things.  But now, with modern secular knowedge, we know that is not the case.

As usual, Rod's headline is almost completely misleading.
