When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle. Then I realised that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me.

Hardly surprising given 75% of the population believes in a book that implies the Earth is a stationary pillared disk in the center of the universe. And it's currently fashionable by the vocal minority to proudly flaunt gratuitous stupidity.

However, on the bright side: every year the population of theistic ignoramuses drops a percent or two, while science continues to move forward.
There is no opinion so absurd that a preacher could not express it.
