NM Supreme Court rules for love and justice!
« on: December 19, 2013, 08:21:28 PM »
The State Supreme Court of New Mexico has ruled same-sex marriage is legal!
http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/post-politics/wp/2013/12/19/new-mexico-supreme-court-legalizes-gay-marriage/?clsrd

Opponents were quick to roll out the standard silly objections, and the Court was just as quick to shoot at least one of them down:
Quote
Supporters of a ban argued that same-sex couples cannot procreate, but the court didn't buy that argument.

"Procreation has never been a condition of marriage under New Mexico law, as evidenced by the fact that the aged, the infertile, and those who choose not to have children are not precluded from marrying," the justices wrote.

Still a long way to go, but every increment towards greater acceptance is welcome.

Any progress is good progress.
According to Cpt. Obvious: Theists think they know God, Atheists require evidence.

That's... what, 17 states now?

Wonder how much progress we'll see in 2014...
Being a Christian, I've made my decision. That decision offers no compromise; therefore, I'm closed to anything else.

New Mexico better watch out, we passed gay marriage here in Illinois and then got hit with tornadoes.  Clearly lord Jupiter was not happy with the decision.
Here read a book.  It's free.

I think you got the wrong one. It's definitely Isis.

On-topic: Good for the USA. Now if only you could pass such a law on the rest of the states, you'd be one step closer to becoming a developed country.
The truth is absolute. Life forms are specks of specks (...) of specks of dust in the universe.
Why settle for normal, when you can be so much more? Why settle for something, when you can have everything?
