Weird postings with Chrome
« on: November 28, 2013, 07:21:54 PM »
I use Google Chrome and for some reason every time I post there winds up being additional spaces between my paragraphs that I did not create or intend. Can someone help? I'm actually posting this post from a Mac and things are working fine (my bros computer). Does anyone have any idea what's wrong? I really don't like having to edit all of the spaces in all of the posts I make.

Thx

I use all major browsers on both Windows and Mac and I have not encountered the problem you describe.

What if you uninstall Chrome then reinstall it?

I'm a Chrome user. I don't have that problem but I'm on a phone, so...

EDIT: Yep, just as I suspected. So there seems to be a double spacing problem. If I hit Enter regular it creates a double spacing in the code - such that once I hit post or save there are double spaces between paragraphs. This seems to only be happening in Chrome though. I'm reading in other places that it is a problem with some forum software. IDK. Frustrating.

If you do not have the problem with other browsers installed on the same machine, then you know it is a Chrome setting of some kind, one that might travel with you whenever you login to a freshly installed version of Chrome. You may have a Chrome extension installed that is buggy or conflicting with another Chrome extension or feature.

If you do have the problem with other browsers installed on the same machine, I would look at either the keyboard settings for a very short repeat setting (even if you don't have this problem with other keys), or an accessibility (disability) setting that forces keys to behave differently than they otherwise might.

Turned off adblock, testing.

Nah, take a bat to it.

Less of a mess.

It must be Chrome b/c I use different computers and it does it on both. I'm on a different PC and it did it right there ^ (two spaces instead of one).

Okay, I sometimes see double spacing[1] in already made comments but it doesn't bother me because I sometimes see tiny (where I have to zoom in) lettering which does bother me but I'm on a phone so...can't be helped.

 1. didn't lie above thought you were speaking about only your comments, which i still think that--i sometimes see it in anyone's comments not just mine

My guess is that it doesn't have anything to do with your setup:
