40 Years ago today
« on: November 08, 2013, 02:37:04 PM »
I was born. A bit of a landmark birthday I guess.

When can I have my mid life crisis?

Depends.   When are you going to die?

Happy birthday.

When can I have my mid life crisis?

Now sounds about right. IIRC the average life expectancy for males in developed countries is around 80.

Depends.   When are you going to die?

Probably at a ripe old age, based on family history and the fact that I am a regular exerciser and non smoker.

Wow, Happy 40th!
It doesn't make sense to let go of something you've had for so long.  But it also doesn't make sense to hold on when there's actually nothing there.

Wow, 40.  Someone told me things start to fall apart after 40.  Let us know as you move along.  I see a red convertible in your future.

Oh, HAPPY BIRTHDAY

Well, it can't be a happy birthday if you're that old. Impossible. The most you can hope for is a tolerable one.

Ah, yes. Forty. I remember it well. Well, actually I don't. I barely remember my name. But I'm pretty sure it was a good year. Lots better than all the ones after it, that's for sure.

Studies have shown that right about age 40, major depression starts to set in. Mostly because people start being told its all downhill after that. Which it is. But you shouldn't let that bother you. It just adds to the normal aches and pains that will show up shortly. You'll barely be able to manage as it is. Don't let others get you down.

 ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Not everyone is entitled to their opinion. They're all entitled to mine though.

Happy 40th magicmiles-
despite being an Australian wanker.
And while you are a reasonable man,
Sin seems an unreasonable anchor.
But I Am that I Am,
and you are that you are,
yet you needn't worry about the burning thicket.
It's the fact that there's a special place in hell,
for people who enjoy watching cricket.
And if you wonder why ol’ God
didn't inseminate the Son in Brisbane like a surgeon,
It's ‘cause the poor sod couldn't seem to find
Three wise men or a virgin.

Happy birthday!

Ok...there's the birthday boy. Had to get to the park at 630am to secure a picnic area for my family morning tea.

Actually it's forecast 31 here in Brisbane. And it is a nice day indeed. This afternoon I hope to watch Tasmania and Qld in the Shield game.

Hey, birthday boy! The new Thor movie is released today. Coincidence? I think not.  ;D

Your costume is still waiting, leather pants, red cape, plastic hammer and all. You will have to bring your own wig, though.....  ;)

Probably at a ripe old age, based on family history and the fact that I am a regular exerciser and non smoker.

So thought Jim Fixx about the latter, at least starting at age 35.

Quote
Granted access to his medical records and autopsy, and after interviewing his friends and family, Cooper concluded that Fixx was genetically predisposed (his father died of a heart attack at age 43 and Fixx himself had a congenitally enlarged heart) ....

Genetics play a much larger role in our lives than people want to admit.

Like the new avatar.

It's just a placeholder for my new custom avatar that should be coming any day now. I asked an online friend and a real-life one to draw it for me. I will compare the two versions, but, if I'm still not satisfied, I'm going to ask around on Deviantart.
