Does pregnancy force God to produce a new soul?
« on: November 08, 2013, 01:15:37 PM »
When a man impregnates a woman is he forcing God to produce a new soul?

If you say God gives permission for the pregnancy to happen, then: Does God allow rape to happen and injects a new soul too?
Religion: The belief that an all powerful God or gods created the entire universe so that we tiny humans can be happy. And we also make war about it.

Oh, my no.  Every pregnancy is a precious gift and one does not get pregnant from a legitimate rape.   :o

It doesn't make sense to let go of something you've had for so long.  But it also doesn't make sense to hold on when there's actually nothing there.

I'd say the causality is backward.  God has a new soul, fresh out of the oven, so he forces people to have sex and get pregnant. If they happened to be married or otherwise together, great.  If not, well, the lord works in mysterious ways.

What's true is already so. Owning up to it does not make it worse.

God has a new soul, fresh out of the oven, ....

Okay  , but if God has this production line for souls right there with Him in heaven why doesn't He just keep the souls right there? Fresh and unblemished like the day God made them. Why do souls have to run the gauntlet in a human body? ;)

God is like Cupid and Venus and-- oh they were pagans. Never mind.
Extraordinary claims of the bible don't even have ordinary evidence.

Kids aren't paying attention most of the time in science classes so it seems silly to get worked up over ID being taught in schools.

Hmm so God takes time off from murdering babies in Africa and creates a soul and needs a new human for it. A pregnancy happens and the soul is deposited. But wait; the baby is from an unmarried couple or rape or the wrong religion etc.... and now God hates that soul he just created until it is old enough to ask to be forgiven by God for Gods fuck up in the first place.

Right on!
