Minor suggestion re: the Karma system/Darwins
« on: October 16, 2013, 03:16:14 PM »
As you can tell from my user-text, I use the Darwins feature a lot, so I noticed something interesting: the positive one is called "Applaud" and the negative one is called "Smite."  I don't know if you guys can change it, but if so, can we call it "Bless" and "Smite?"  That would seem more godly.  Besides, applause and DAMNATION don't really seem to be fair opposites.  I'm not sure if those are set in stone or you can modify them, but it's just my 2% of one American dollar.

Hugs and love.  -Benny

I don't like "Blessed".

That's why you have so many smites  ;)
Actually it doesn't. One could conceivably be all-powerful but not exceptionally intelligent.

Applause and smite are antonyms though. Smite isn't really synonymous with damning.

Oh...I thought it was because I am an asshole. My bad. I stand corrected.

A major no on blessed. That would really tick me off.

Smite reminds me of knights striking each other. Perhaps because I'm living at a renaissance festival right now, I could get behind "huzzah!" for applause. lol!!!

"Smart", "Intelligent", "Excellent", etc., I think would work.

But "Applaud" is simple and easy.

Benny,

thanks for the suggestion.  I appreciate that you have enough interest in the forum that you want to make it better.  We had a long discussion a couple years ago about whether to use the karma system and what to call it.  I'd rather not go through that again.  But don't be discouraged.  keep offering suggestions.  Sincerely.
