Interesting article.  I already knew that ranching had severe ecological problems (which naturally lead to severe economic problems), but this makes a surprising amount of sense.  And if it really does help to deal with the desertification of grasslands and the like, then I'd say it's worth doing.

The Corp of Engineers have been buying up land around my area for years and allowing it to go back to the way it was.  They have reintroduced some plants but a lot have come up on their own after what man introduced was burned off.  Some wild flowers that came back were unknown up to that point.

Some wild flowers that came back were unknown up to that point.

Forum member Odin probably shot them all with his AR-15.  They looked threatening as he was walking his fence.
