Most human beings want to be part of something larger than themselves. They crave moral purpose and social solidarity. If we overlook this, we fail to understand the means and meaning of social progress.

How's that wrong?

Or do you agree with it?

I don't presuppose a god. I presuppose a delusion of something that doesn't exist based off the lack of evidence for it.

I liked the column alot Nam.  He is a pretty liberal columnist and as a pretty liberal person I agree with him most of the time.  To write about the selflessness of firefighters, and how the horrible idea (sarcasm) of taxes pays for them, while  conservatives like Ayn Rand and business execs believe looking out for number one is the answer for society, it is the type of argument people need to consider.

Thanks, Nam - too often I post an article w/o my opinion.
