I would say it is. The English Defense League are strongly anti-Muslim and proclaim they're about defending English values and argue they're against extremism and Sharia Law and to be honest, there are probably a number of people who are genuine in that regard, I have met EDL members who seem to have been such. However, they also form quite a large crowd of bigot folks supporting the cause.
Essentially this would be like homosexuals offering coffee and donuts to protesting members of the Westboro Baptist Church and then getting along swimmingly. I would say that would be the US equivalent.
It is perhaps an example where anger and hate has been nullified by peace and understanding. Oh and fecking tea. Does anybody else see this as ironic? If Muslims are serving up EDL tea & biscuits and playing football, then surely this means they're more British than the EDL?
