I am always sad to hear of the death of someone so young, and I cannot imagine the pain his parents must be suffering right now. I find myself hoping, irrationally of course, that the mental illness that his father spoke of was a genuine mental illness, and not that he was gay and labeled mentally ill.
I know nothing about this young man, his illness, or his sexual orientation, but I know that Rick Warren has the blood of gay men on his hands.

And I hope that those who knew and loved this young man can come together and comfort each other as they work through their unspeakable grief, and attempt to understand that which no parent could possibly ever come to understand.
