Pope says seems God was sleeping
« on: February 27, 2013, 08:55:42 AM »
OMG!!! The Pope said it seemed that his god was sleeping when he needed him. So now the truth is out, god is sleeping most of the time. Ha Ha.
People are 'erroneously confident' in their knowledge and underestimate the odds that their information or beliefs will be proved wrong. They tend to seek additional information in ways that confirm what they already believe.

Reminds me of Elijah taunting the priests of Baal.

1 Kings 18:27,28
Quote
At noon Elijah began to taunt them. “Shout louder!” he said. “Surely he is a god! Perhaps he is deep in thought, or busy, or traveling. Maybe he is sleeping and must be awakened.” 28 So they shouted louder and slashed themselves with swords and spears, as was their custom, until their blood flowed.

I believe the Pope calls a trinity his God and not Jehovah.
Ye are my witnesses, saith Jehovah, and my servant whom I have chosen; that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.

I did not come to say that.  I came only to say he doesn't pray to Jehovah.

EDIT: So did you, by the way. I don't remember hearing any of your prayers.

In light of my signature, it's safe for you to assume I consider Jehovah to be the true God.  So the Pope is only praying to the wrong God if I am correct.  Personally, I think the evidence should speak for itself.

A simple "yes" would've sufficed.

Personally, I think the evidence should speak for itself.

It does. There is no god.[1]

I don't have evidence to support those conclusions.  But I do have evidence that the Pope is not praying to a real God.

So the OT that talks about the Pantheon of the gods is false?

"For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or on earth; as there are gods many, and lords many; yet to us there is one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we unto him; and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom are all things, and we through him." (1 Cor 8:5, 6)

And check this one out.

"I have said, You are gods; and all of you are children of the most High." Psalm 82:6
Ye are my witnesses, saith Jehovah, and my servant whom I have chosen; that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.

You mean there is only one God for you,it does not eliminate other gods that exist or may have existed. You just mean it is the god you happen to follow, right?

Nah! Your signature seems to contradict with Krishna. http://vedabase.net/bg/7/24/

Krishna is the supreme one and the Gita was published long, long before the Bible. How dare you say YHWH is the One???

No, I mean the Bible does not teach about a real pantheon of Gods.

And I am questioning the scriptures. The Gita too was handed over direct by god and Krishna is the one true god. How come your YHWH goes around saying the same stuff??? Please change your signature text, thats just unjustified.
