Pythonesque, that indeed popped into my mind to at several points.
And they didn't pause after each joke, like American movies are wont to do.
And they included actually funny jokes.
And the shoestring budget didn't get in the way ... yeah, some of the SFX were quite basic, but then again, in Army of Darkness, they're simply throwing biology-class-skeletons at the protagonist. These guys pull the same thing with guts and limbs and stuff.
one of the highlights ... "stick with me Judas, and you'll live for a long time ... Judas? Judas?!"
