To be fair, it would explain why god doesn't heal amputees.  With all the sporting events in the country, he's too damn busy to deal with anything else.

People can be really selfish.  Think about it for a minute.  The Super Bowl is this weekend.  This is the Big One.  God can't be expected to attend to your petty needs when the Big One is on the line. 

I wonder if the odds makers in Vegas take into effect the God affect?

People always believe God has a hand in positive things that affect them.

Honestly, it's been like this since there were humans, probably.  Unusually good (or bad) luck has always been seen as the actions of some divinity.

Its probably all for me. He's trying to get my attention. I just looked back at all the Superbowls that have been played and see that the team I was rooting for won about half the time. What are the odds of that happening without divine intervention?

Guess I gotta rethink this whole atheism thing.

It's always, "God gave me the strength". You hear "God made my opponent stumble" far less often. Even what god's doing is about me, me, me.
