Life explained in a question?
« on: January 06, 2013, 01:49:27 AM »
My wonderful wife wrote this poem after being perplexed by a childhood parent friend who came over to visit in regards to her cancer. The woman is religious and said some "toned" things that my wife did not digest well. After weeks of loosing sleep, finally one night she penned this beauty.

Knowing that flowers produce seeds, as do the weeds
and the rainbow is illusion, though beautiful indeed...
wouldn't it seem that Life has no "why" but for to live it?
It has no meaning but what you give it?

I wonder what this forum has to say on her diagnosis. From an agnostic raised Mormon married to an atheist....fighting cancer, finding peace in the ever long question. Touche.

Wow, man, that is truly a beautiful poem. Your wife is a very talented person. My best to both of you.

As an atheist and aspiring poet myself, nicely done. Perhaps there's more of a poem there than those four lines, but that's up to your wife. Please pass on my appreciation.

Thanks for sharing. Wonderful.
The whole point of science is that most of it is uncertain. That's why science is exciting--because we don't know. Science is all about things we don't understand. The public, of course, imagines science is just a set of facts. But it's not.  Freeman Dyson
