the interesting thing is that many of the evangical protestants are saying that Earthquakes are increasing and that its a sign of the "end" http://www.raptureready.com/nm/285.html but whats the best proof to show that they are wrong?
The idea of earthquakes being a sign of the end times is taken from this bible verse:
Matthew 24:5-8
King James Version (KJV)
5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.
These things have been happening for the last couple thousands of years.
I mean, WTF? Earthquakes have been happening for thousands of years. Take for example the quake in Crete.
[1]. There have been many other Earthquakes since then. Not to mention diseases like the Bubonic Plague, and it's various ourbreaks (which has probably killed more people than AIDS has
[2]), and famines have been a problem even since when Jesus 'lived'. Why the fuck would he feel the need to multiply fish and two loaves of bread?
All these 'signs of the end times' have been happening for thousands of years. After the first thousand years waiting for Jesus to come with these 'signs' happening around us, it's probably best to think that Jesus has just stood us all up.
