OK, well that confirms it. The forum's internal email functionality is broken. How many new members are we losing daily? This is bad news.

I changed my email address on my profile and was locked out of my account. It would NOT send me the ACTIVATION email for my new email address. I don't doubt that this is the problem.

This is really a serious problem. I will try to help the Admins if they want my advice, since I know SMF forum stuff pretty well. But this explains the dropoff in theists (and others) they cannot register at all.

I would also suggest, if possible, to add a contact email address in the TOS agreement. It was near to impossible to find a contact link on the website to get help. Even then it wasn't an admin. If it was easier to contact someone with registration issues it might help increase membership.

Until about that time, I had been receiving email notices that new members were signing up. Since then, not so much.

So who is charged with trying to figure out what is wrong?  Have new members tried to register, but been unable to do so? 

I am NOT a techy, and when I come to the site, I am logged in automatically.  If that were not the case, I would try to create a new account and see what happens and come back and report.

Surely there is someone here who knows how to "log off" the site and try and create a new account.

You can't start your own threads until you've made at least three posts in existing threads.  It's an anti-spamming measure.
