I saw today that some leaders of Muslim nations want the UN to make insults against their religion a crime throughout the world.

The Pentateuch consists of the first five books of the old testament. The jews don't refer to the old testament as the "old " testament because they don't accept the new testament as cannon.

Specialty toilet paper was something of a fad quite a few years ago. Reading the posts here made me think of a possible new one: the Koran written on a roll of toilet paper. And the book of Mormon. And the New Testament. And the Torah. And ... (you get the idea)

Muslims know that there is but one true religion. Well OK the catholics, protestants (especially southern baptists) , hassidic jews, budhists, and moonies are all equally certain of the inerrancy of their faith. Muslims seem to be particular sensitive about  anything counter to their belief system. It's like they all have terminal migraines or something.  Oh alright, they are not all as uptight as the militant Islamic types but the crazies more than make up for the rational ones..

As for the toilet  tissue issue, I like the idea but the really seriously fucked up muslims do not bother to use toilet paper. If they did it could be applied only by the left hand according to allahs command. For real, the right hand is not permitted for use in such an application. There is also a proscribed right and left hand  ritual for washing ones hands in case that event is ever contemplated. I'll suspect that kneeling for prayer behind other observant muslims could be a rather odoriferous event.

I see no reason to insult them.  I do think that we might do well to pay attention to them for the sake of our own defense. I Browsed some of the sites that Snozolla mentioned. Wow!  A lot of their commentary is scary and it is abundently clear that they do not like us.

I like the way, in the last few seconds of the movie, the horses are galloping through sand dunes with car tracks on them, and then he stands in front of sand with tractor marks in it.

What I find the most ironic is the fact that by far, the majority of those rioting, had not actually seen the film. Which makes me wonder, could someone start another riot by just saying they had seen something insulting?

The young turks ragging on the movie promoter pisses me off.
What piss poor Americans! It doesn't mater one whit what the movie says or what kind of dick he is, it's never an excuse for violence. If the muslims weren't violent about this movie, we wouldn't have given it another thought. It would have remained obscure.

In the same way that we now say that how a woman dresses does not excuse rape, what someone says or shows to someone else is not the business of nor the concern of people's beliefs in a foreign land. If Libyans don't like what they see in America, then they shouldn't look at American internet feeds.  There is no excuse.

The American ambassador and three others died in the Sept. 11 attack on the U.S. Consulate in the Libyan city.
The amateur film "Innocence of Muslims" was made by an Egyptian-born American citizen.
In an audio message released by al-Qaida's media arm As-Sahab and posted on militant websites early Saturday, al-Zawahri claimed Washington allowed the film's production under the pretext of freedom of expression, "but this freedom did not prevent them from torturing Muslim prisoners."
