Dutch elections

The Dutch had their elections yesterday and gthe results are encouraging. There were 141 seat to be assigned and the two openly Christian parties took a bit of a beating.
The Christian Democrats went from 21 to 13 seats and the Christian Union (an umbrella party for several dozen fundamentalist protestant parties) went from 5 to 4 seats.
Now, of course, other parties do occasionally namedrop god and the bible into their discourse but not as a rule of thumb. And the CU does target the local elections more than the national ones. In local elections they score some 20% of the vote. Still, if the trend holds until the next local elections, I'll be a happy cookie.

We have this saying in Belgium, "when it rains in Paris, it drizzles in Brussels"
And economically, this is quite accurate ... Politically, however, it's Amsterdamian precipitation that translates to Belgium.
That's why excess popularity for a nutcase party like the CU concerns me.
A few weeks after their initial victory in the last local (Dutch) elections, a creationist pamphlet[1] show up in my mailbox.
Hm, I go, what's this?
'Responsible Publisher' (which is a mandatory element that needs to appear on all such things) didn't tell me much. It was just a guy's name. No hits on google. However, the printer was also mentioned. Turned out it was a printer wholly owned by the CU. That's right, a Dutch political party was spreading creationist pamphlets in Belgium ...  ... WTF?!

So, yeah, I do keep an eye on  those damned Dutch.
(oh and there's an old joke ... that probably has been recycled a million times by now ... when god saw how wonderful he'd accidentally made Belgium, he put the Dutch next door to compensate)

I think it is more likely that Holland doesn't exist.

Compare the two countries on the most important level i.e. beer.

Ask someone to name a Dutch beer and they will be stumped for a moment before answering, "Heineken" but ask someone to name a Belgian beer and they will be stumped to pick one out from dozens of names swirling around in their minds.

Now, using Occam's razor, which is more likely; a fictional country where the attention to detail includes literally hundreds of beers or a fictional country where there is apparently only one beer?

Nownownow ... I do oppose the notion that the Dutch don't have ANY good beer. Sure, the big labels, Heineken, Dommelsch, Grolsch ... those are utter total and complete shite (or, well, watered down donkey piss as the case may be).
Some of the smaller labels are pretty damn good. Though they do need to learn that added sugar is not a requirement. (as an aside, they put sugar in EVERYTHING ... I mean, mayonaise with sugar?!  )
To name just a few Emelisse from the Zeeland province, Gulpener from Dutch Limbourg and La Trappe (an actual trappist beer!) ... those are some pretty good beers!

As far as proving The Netherlands don't exist ... their previous prime minister looked curiously like Harry Potter, so CLEARLY he didn't really exist! That's CLEARLY a photoshop!
This while our current prime minister is a bow tie wearing gay socialist Italian who's monolingual French speaking in a trilingual predominantly Dutch speaking country. I mean, that's the sort of stuff you just can't make up! That HAS to be real!
