I just dont' capitalize anything  8)

I think some quakers do call it church, though, yes, there was a whole thing about calling it meeting.  I would feel a little queasy going somewhere called church every week.

Thanks, Emily.  I"m finding I like and don't like both for some similar and some different reasons.  I wish I coudl find someone to discuss with with views similar to Maggie's, for example, but who would actually discuss them instead of just saying "you're an idiot, I can't believe you don't get this" every time anyone says anything to disagree with her.  sigh.

Actually, the issue I got into over there had more to do with other stuff.  The overlap between stuff that seems sexist and in any case makes me kind of uncomfortable and "fun" threads is pretty heavy duty.

and I seem to be somewhat of a thread-killer in both places :)

Stephen.   I know (through blogging, a long time ago) an atheist who attends the meeting in Houston!  I highly recommend checking it out (I'm kind of a quaker evangelist, which kind of is a contradiction in terms)
