I want to say "thanks" for being a rational, logical and responsible
source of pointing out the myth which is the bible (and religious
belief).

My seven year old had caught the end of one of your videos (I didn't
even know he was listening) and said "I know why god is imaginary.
Because he hasn't made you better". He said this after watching me
suffer through the last five years with Crohn's disease, despite all
the prayer coming from my wife's church. Kids aren't stupid, and when
given a chance to examine certain beliefs, they can separate reality
from bullshit.

Sorry to hear of your illness. Crohn's is one of the nastier diseases -- A friend of a friend has it, and it nearly killed him until his doctor got him onto state-of-the-art immunosuppressive drugs.

I work in medicine, and sometimes do reports for a Gastroenterologist who specializes in Crohn's and ulcerative colitis, and I've yet to hear of a patient getting better because someone prayed for him.  Immunology and pharmacology research, clinical trials and a knowledgeable GI specialist seem to be considerably more powerful than gods in that regard.

I've heard this: To get better they have: Medical treatment and prayer, or Medical Treatment without prayer, or Prayer only. Both options A & B work but C never does.  Believers cannot seem to grasp that medical treatment makes all the difference, not the prayer. Then they pass the buck so they don't have to take responsibility when someone dies saying, "It was His will." Because when someone does get cured, supposedly it's the All-Powerful God answering the prayers with Science and Medicine, and make it look like he had nothing to do with it at all. 

Those that believe in an errent bible need to read the magic potion mentioned in Numbers 5. The passage concerning it starts on verse 11 and goes to the end of the chapter.
