Christian: 100% -- Atheist: 1%
« on: July 31, 2012, 07:40:12 PM »
This guy I know, who posts the stupidist and obvious topics that Christianity is the only right/correct religion at this website I frequent; which mainly I ignore 'cause they are regurgitations of the same thing over and over again. But at this website, this type of trolling and preaching, apparently, is allowed.

Anyway, this one topic caught my eye. He says Christians[1] use 100% of their brains compared to atheists who only use 1% of their brains, everyone else confused about the "true nature of God through Jesus[2]" that are religious and/or spiritual, use 15% of their brains.

It's the stupidest thing I've ever read. I wish I was on a desktop so I could link it. I asked him where in the Bible it says that but he just quotes nonsense bible passages that have nothing to do with the subject.

I guess I'm a 1%'er.

I've never heard of that before.  I guess that would explain why Christians are so much smarter than everyone who is not.

(Lets see, global warming does nor exist, the Lock Ness Monster is real and proves man walked with dinosaurs, Jesus likes rich people more than non rich, and Christians have the best spelling and grammar of all, and know when the rapture is going to happen)

He says that it explains why we don't know Biblegod. We don't have the necessary brain function to recognize the truth in front of us.

Well, I guess we can be thankful for that.  You would have thought the great designer would have made all of us with a full charge.

I've read that some, or most Christians believe that Jesus had 100% brain power. My thought: if so, why was a carpenter?

This is completely true.

Even when Christians try really hard and use all of their brains, they still get fooled.

Atheists, on the other hand, only need to use 1% of their brains to see what a crock it all is.
Just because you've always done it that way doesn't mean it's not incredibly stupid.

A 52 horsepower Yugo often uses 100% of it's engine power, while a 640 horsepower Dodge Viper almost never does.

So, what scientific studies has he done or cited to demonstrate this marked difference in brain usage?  I would think it would be quite easy to repeat and confirm or disprove.  Perhaps someone should run such a study.
Worldviews:  Everyone has one, everyone believes them to be an accurate view of the world, and everyone ends up at least partially wrong.  However, some worldviews are stronger and well-supported, while others are so bizarre that they make no sense to anyone else.

I can't. I'm currently using only half of my 1%.

You have to use more of your brain if you have a fertile imagination.
When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle. Then I realised that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me.

Sounds like an average Christian to me. People have pointed to "God's Word" to justify their ridiculous beliefs for thousands of years.

People have their own point of views and concepts about God may depend on their knowledge and mostly due to what they were listened from people around them

Does anyone remember that show on TV where they had 3 or 4 groups?  one being atheist, christian, scientists, and  I cant remember the other group. It was basically an IQ test show, If I remember correctly the atheists came in second, the scientists were first. Correct me if Im wrong.  :)

The Gawd made a blanket statement implying scientist are all (most likely) atheist 'cause they are scientists. My reply was just that "not all of them are", which is true. Whether most of them are, or not, is irrelevant to my reply.
