Society - are we stuck in 0-BC-land?

So, here's what I'm seeing by browsing through the forum..
-Mental illness = insane mad-men wielding weapons and massively murdering the entire population. run for your lives!!!!!
-Physics - You can't understand what the hell they are actually saying, it sounds like craziness... If it's a scientist you can't understand, only then is it ok..
-Hierarchy of needs - something that none of us understand is needed by humans.
-General health choices - we don't understand that dieting and excercise means 1-2 meals per day instead of 3-4. So we've come up with various 'dietary eating foods'. Crap. Smoking - we think it's now worse than meth. Meth - willing to try it before sex. Sex - not understood that it's a good thing most of the time. Excercise - we don't understand that we need it. Laughter - we don't know its healing power is better than prayer.. I could continue.
-Economy - we don't understand that its negative effects are more damaging than depriving a rape victim the option of abortion..
-Religion - the same question(s) get asked, the same answers given. Yet it's still open to debate. And still, it's like most theists scroll to the bottom without reading and hit 'I accept'. Most atheists understand not only the religion they left better than most theists but also other religions..
-Politics - treated like a religion - scrolling to the bottom without reading the labels and saying 'I accept'.
-Society - clearly we have societal issues. But we dilute ourselves into thinking drinking beer and watching boobs bounce can magically erase any problem we face as a society. Also, not paying attention and not being aware of the details seems to help us overcome our own mis-guidance and helplessness...
-Culture - if I'm surrounded by bitchy, discriminatory, self-righteous, retarded and crazy Mormons again, I'm gonna go postal...
-Science - putting on the earmuffs makes it taste better.
-End-of-time-dudes - they can be wrong all they want, but at least they all got rich by putting a date out there and scaring the shit out of their own followers.. how many times has the world got to end in the 'spirit' before it manifests in the 'physical plane of existence..'
I guess I could go on, but I don't want to make fun of too many things. What this means to me is, there's a lot of mis-understanding going on. Which tells me that people aren't thinking for themselves or searching or finding the correct information.
This leads me to say: I challenge you to a duel!! Oh wait, we all forgot we're not still living in the time of our Lord, 1400 AD.... .....

Yes. Evolution tends towards the average. To have an average, 50% have to be stupid and even bright people are stupid sometimes.
If everyone were exactly the same as me, the world would be a great place and no one would do anything that was, even in the slightest way, strange.

You're exactly correct, Graybeard. Listen - I need to turn my attention to other things for a while, so my attention to this forum will be lacking. It's not necessarily a bad thing, because I'm getting agitated on a forum made up mostly of intellectuals.
Do something for me and keep this place in check with your unbiased and understanding posts...
