Faith in Australia Declining
pianodwarf:
As in most of the rest of the first world, religious belief is on the decline in Australia, with 18.7 percent of the population in 2006 claiming no religion climbing to 22.3 percent today, an increase of roughly one point every two years.

I have faith in Australia
...it doesn't even require faith
if it didn't exist, I'd be swimming ;)
One impression I do get here from roaming random conversations, is that statements re: lack of religious belief are not the same as lack of god belief.
I'd like to see that breakdown.
Thanks for the link bloke.
BaalServant:
Cool link, pianodwarf. I'm guessing the greens in the graph are representative of muslims, but that's just a guess.
Side question for you - how's your reading of the bible coming along?

My initial thought upon seeing this thread's title was, yes, my faith in Australia would be declining, considering some of MagicMiles' posts, if it weren't for you and natlegend's contributions.

Moving along reasonably well. I'm just going straight thru from beginning to end. As of right now, I'm about halfway thru Jeremiah, which, according to my Kindle Touch, means that I'm 63% done. If I can manage to keep up at my current pace, I'll probably be finished around the end of July or possibly early August.
This book is so lame in so many ways... that's for another thread, though.
Quesi:
Don't fret, Magicmiles. You can come to the US. No decline among the faithful here. And there are some beautiful parts of the midwest.
