This poll is inregards to this thread: If Biblegod was shown to exist, Would you worship or Burn Forever?

A Hypothetical

Humanity, including you, accepts that Biblegod has been proven to exist. Suddenly find yourself in a room with two buttons. The sign says -

"Press the red button to worship god. Press the blue button to accept eternal torture.

You have 5 minutes to press a button - after 5 minutes and not having pressed a button, the system defaults to a press of the blue button.

Your choice is irrevocable.

You now have 5 minutes left"

That's all you get. That's all the information you have in the hypothetical. Complaining like you all are doing, sidestepping, wriggling, asking to have information that isn't coming, proclaiming how many cigars you have burned into your skin, making brazen statements about some impossible grandstanding is not going to get you anywhere. There you sit and there you are faced with the buttons and no more information. There is nobody to ask a question of. This is the hypothetical in it's entirety.

Press your button.

This thread is not to debate the hypothetical, just submit your vote and discuss it HERE if you wish to debate the hypothetical.
Thank you for considering my point of view; however wrong it may be to you.

Jetson - I'd like to go into depth on your "go blue" but I can't do it here. Please go to my thread about it so I can ask you some questions. I'll try to be gentle.  :)

^ HUGE LOL at that HAL, thank you for making my day.  I'm still going to go Blue.

And to The Wannabe,
I'm assuming that this God is the same one front the OT.  Cmon blue!

Because squirming in agony for all eternity is really sticking it to the man![1]

My impression is that you feel it is pointless to push Blue because you can't stick it to the man.  That's fine to think.  It's not why I'd push Blue though.  Not trying to start a big discussion by any means, just wanted to double-check your goal with that statement Wannabe. =) C'mon Blue!

Oh, I made this quick too.  Maybe a LOL back HAL?

Hal God,set out in the OT and NT is a fuck-up at best and a narcissistic little bitch with power at worst......but he is far from undeafeatable, has a weakness for Iron chariots,so cars and tanks must scare (pardon the pun)the hell out of him. Has a soft spot for his former right hand man(Satan) and this burning in hell thing.......

ITS a FUCKING JOKE,mainly because its a man made invention.....any reference to hell is made up by people who never even MET Jesus OR God........any threats attributted to God or Jesus were written by people, again long after Jesus was supposedly alive (not eyewitness) there is no mention of hell in the OT is there?

A break-away group of Jews invented Hell to try to scare their former brothers and sisters into the new religion.  They told them about this new place, hell, where they would go if they failed to accept this new "king" as their lord

How and why do you think you speak for God,Hal? How do you know God has an interest in putting people there? Your information on hell is third party heresay at best at worst it is pure fiction.  If God were proven, how can YOU say for certain he would CARE? ...and oh-ya blue cuz God could car less or I will steal a fucking TANK(iron chariot) and take my fellow brothers and sisters to defeat God!!!!

Seems Hal is losing. 8 for blue, and 3 for red.

Hal thinks he knows what could change my mind and get me to push the red button but I don't do anything I don't want to; and it's been that way almost my entire life.

I don't welcome eternal torture, and it's not about regretting the decision like flapdoodle (sp?) states, 'cause in making the decision I would be of sound mind, as I am right now.

If Biblegod was shown to exist, and it is the Biblegod of the whole Bible: Heaven would bew more Hell to me than Hell would. It's like taking the rest of one's pride and dignity; after that: what matters? At least in Hell you'd still have those things, even if slightly diminished.

But, I would never regret the decision; and y'all can keep on stating, as a fact, I and everyone else would, but you don't know us, or anyone based on your own perception of society, and yourselves.

That's where you lose the argument, and it seems based on Hal's topic: the battle, as well, a long time ago.

Hey Nam, Have a Cigar

Come in here, dear Nam, have a cigar.
You're not gonna go far, you're gonna crash and burn,
You're never gonna die, you're gonna be tortured cause you lied; they're gonna burn you.
Well I've always had the least respect, and I mean that most sincerely.
The feast is just fantastic, that is really what I think.
Oh by the way, which lung did they roast?

And did we tell you the name of the game, boy
We call it avoiding stupid decisions.

We're just knocked out.
We just got the altar built out.
You gotta get a staple out,
You owe it to the people. We're so happy we can hardly eat our lambchops.
Everybody else is just fine, have you seen the altar?
It's a helluva start, it could be made into a monster
if we all pull together as a team.

And did we tell you the name of the game, boy
We call it avoiding stupid decisions.

Again Hal I ask how do you know what his final judgement will be?

Red.

Funny thing is, I would say blue if you asked me right now.  But I would change to red within a minute of starting the burning.  I know I would.  I've seen the effects of torture.  Hell, I'd push whatever button you wanted after the burning started.
Whenever events that are purported to occur in our best interest are as numerous as the events that will just as soon kill us, then intent is hard, if not impossible to assert. NDT

Hi ambassador pony

This is John 3 16.

I really wanted to find out where you stand about this topic.

This is an extremely important matter of something that I can not disclose right at this moment.

Then  it's a heck alot of risk (being an athiest) you are taking, unless you are 100% sure there are no gods.

Red here - although I now live with quite a bit of pain (most caused by a near-fatal car wreck 4 years ago), and this 'discomfort' is likely to continue for the rest of my life, in terms of eternal agony - I'm allergic to that :)

This is one heck of a ridiculous question.  I'd worship.  I don't like heat.

Sidebar: I don't like the subject of fear.  If someone asks me my deepest fears, I usually tell them, "temperature, altitude, and duration."  That confuses them long enough for me to make a getaway.
I'm here every now and again.

I don't think this poll proves much of anything about the members here. I was mostly just curious as to how people would answer when given the option of anonymity. It is interesting to see how close the raise is though, perhaps we are not as easy to predict HAL?[1]
 1. This is rhetorical I already know your answer.
