FWIW I'm with OOA on this one. A name is a name.  It's his and his to change as he pleases, no different from his avatar picture or signature line.  I, along with most people here, have changed my avatar and sig line multiple times.  If he wants to change his name it's his to change.  Considerations for other forum members and their clarity doesn't have to be made.  OOA no more has to consider the other members on this forum when changing his name than I consider other people when changing sigs or avatars.

I'm not saying it's perfect.  Yes, it is a slight inconvenience to know more names for a certain person but what I'm saying is that he doesn't have to consider your needs for his profile name.

Ooooo! Ooooo!  Can I be Davedave and talk about gay teachers who wear bikinis and serve tree bark in trendy restaurants?

No, you cannot.  We are just trading names, not personalities.

Actually, most sites I'm on won't let you change your username willy-nilly. They require a very good reason. I'm surprised that the admins here will do it on a whim. Running a site is a pain in the butt, and doing optional tasks like name changes are simply one of those things that many will not accomodate. Or is there a way to change our own names? If so, I can't find it. Sigs and avatars, on the other hand, are something we can all change ourselves, so its no burden on admin.

Yeah, well ....

.... anyway, I think the next time he wants to change his name, we should agree but change it to a name that he doesn't want, even one that cannot be pronounced, like ...

@Everyone else: I understand your problems and apologize for the inconvenience I caused. I will do as Seppuku proposed and attach a permanent "Formerly known as/AKA" thing to my sig.
Sweet.

In your own time. No hurry.

Thanks for listening.

Jetson's an admin now? Grats.

OT: Regarding OAA's latest name change, I do know that when ever he replied to a christian they seemed to freak over his username and multiple times he's had to explain the origins of Lucifer and that it isn't what christians think it is, and because of that has a lot of baggage. OAA just gives the perception that the user has a massive ego. I guess he'd rather be prejudged that way by people. Personally I preferred Blaziken, but it's not my name to go by.

You're just very annoying. After this, I'm putting some of you on my ignore list. Feel free to smite me if you want, which I know most of you would, if I hadn't pointed out the obviousness of that action.

I can't take that statement seriously. You've always struck me as far too curious of a person to not review statements made about you.

He won't do it, or if he does he'll just turn it off as soon as he sees me post a comment in one of his threads. I just tried it and this is what you see in the thread if an ignored member posts in it - it still shows the member profile just not the content of the post -

You are ignoring this user. Show me the post.

LOL OAA, LOL.
