Homosexuality no longer an illness in the Netherlands

Up until about two weeks ago, health insurance companies in the Netherlands had to, by law, cough up dough if one of their customers went to 'gay-therapy'.
This was the last vestige of homosexuality being considered a disease in the Netherlands.

I'm just so sick of bigots who keeps proclaiming that homosexuality is a disease, even when some one in Netherlands still thought it. How is loving someone of the same sex a disease? If that's a disease, then so is being left handed or ginger.

That's the weird thing about the Dutch, isn't it. They were at the forefront in pushing for homosexuality to be removed from the UN list of diseases and yet, gay-treatment kept being considered a valid medical treatment.
It's like they had a creationist as minister for education a while back.

Half the country is progressive and the other half ... yeah.
