Watch the video.....I am still trying to figure out why these devices were never utilized earlier

Thanks, 12 Monkeys. A great example of an innovator, using his own skill and knowledge that's accumulated in the intervening years.

I love the idea of improving mechanical systems in an era where electronics get most of the attention. Practical, real-life "steampunk" devices like this prosthetic can make an enormous difference in an individual's life.

these mechanical units have been around since the early 20th century....amazing
