buying coffee just now

Me: I’ll have a large flat white please
Girl: No worries – that’s one sugar, right?
Me: No sugar thanks
Girl: Dammit! I always want to give you sugar!

I deserve a medal for keeping a straight face.

I don't understand coffee orders that don't involve words like half-caf or venti.
pero ya tu sabes...

As a tea drinker I wish that coffee shops offered a decent range of quality tea :/
Unfortunately no. All they usually have is bulk crap tea or Tazo.

What I wouldn't give for a high quality earl grey or a proper orange pekoe...
I swear sometimes I feel like I was born on the wrong continent for my palette.

Lovely story though miles, made me chuckle. :)
Cheers!

Lol, you should have at least told her you're married just to see the look on her face. ;)

As a fellow tea drinker I concur! However, this being England, we've got lots of tea shops too, just none in my town. :( It's either Starbucks, Costas, Subway or Sainsbury's Cafe, all do crappy tea.

Pardon my ignorance, but what the hell is a  "a large flat white?"

I ground my own beans (kona) and make fresk coffee every morning. I am not familiar with these terms.

or as my husband says "I like my women like coffee, ground up and in the freezer." ;D

we have an excellent coffe place that roasts its own and has this great blend of dark, light and medium roasts.  I'd personally love to open a tea shop here in the states but in central PA, not sure if it could make it.

Sometimes I envy coffee.  Its the first thing my wife wants to put her lips on in the morning.  :(
Men think epilepsy divine, merely because they do not understand it... We will one day understand what causes it, and then cease to call it divine. And so it is with everything in the universe.  Allegedly by Hippocrates.  If he didn't write it, then I just like it.

It would appear that after Starbucks now I have to have a cappuchino.(sp?)  That's a problem, since I can no longer stand coffee at work.
I also have a hot tea craving - the aroma is what gets me there.  A nicely made tea can be a good night-cap...

Good tea is awesome. I hear the Americans are at a disadvantage in terms of what tea is available to them. At least Brit I hear going over to America say the tea is horrible. I'm such a tea whore that I buy only tea leaves and I stock up different types of tea, though I can't compete with my friend who has a cupboard just for her variations of tea.

This is an awesome tea-shop in Nottingham I visit when I'm in the area, they also have an online store and I believe they ship tea as well.

Seriously, some of the best tea I've ever had. ;)

On which note:

So that thing about how we shouldn't stereotype people? I probably am not helping myself here.

As for coffee, there's only one coffee I've ever tried and liked, I just can't for the life of me remember what brand.

prof elemental!  excellent.    Well, in the states, we can get PG Tips  :)  I generally prefer teas from http://www.republicoftea.com/  but since I am not currently flush with money, I get Bigelow's Earl Grey.

Available with large cups and will keep me up late at night.
