Hello, I am Strawman.

Hello everybody,
I'm a regular Atheist from the UK. I was born and raised with no religious dogma, except for my Gran who is a British-Israelite and used to send reams of literature in the post which would make my Mum quite upset.
I used to see Religion as a harmless, if rather strange, institution until I realised how much power it still has, especially over the pond.

I was told about this forum by a friend and it seems interesting. I hope to learn about people's mindsets and how they came to their conclusions. The debate challenges sound great, I will have to have a deeper look into them and maybe one day I will be part of one!

Welcome!  I'm certain you will find a lot of smart interesting discussion here.  I look forward to learning more about you, and I'm always interested in hearing about how those "over the pond"  view those of us here in the land in which a loud, powerful evangelical minority makes international news.

Please explain the term.  I've heard it before.  I learned what it is.  I forgot.  Anyway

  1) I am too tired tonite to work my mind.  I can't even remember how to spell Gugle or Wickedpedia.
  2) It would be more entertaining to read your take on the matter.

To be honest I don't really know either but I think it has something to do with the British being the chosen race of God and descending from Jesus in some way.

never heard that brit-israelite term.  British IsraelismWiki  well, good to know that Americans aren't the only ones with loonies about.  &)  I'm assuming this is where a lot of that holy grail nonsense has come from?
