I'm noticing a lot of improper quoting on the forum by both sides. What I'm referring to is quoting nested quotes. This is unnecessary and wastes a lot of space in the thread. The thread already contains the entire conversation so there is no need to paste it in your response again. The example shown below is short but I've seen huge nested quotes being used to respond to people, just because it's easy to click the Quote button and forget about what you are inserting into the thread. This needs to be addressed - you can do that only if you CUT OUT all unneeded nested text/quotes.
Suppose member Tim wanted to reply to HAL from a previous post shown below (which already has nested quotes and wasting space)
Incorrect - wastes space -when all the true christians (deep rooted) go to heaven before/during the tribulation ...
How would we know they went to Heaven (or where they went).
(Tim re-quotes all nested quotes and says)
They would know because ...
Correct - efficient and to the point without adding text that is clearly in the thread alread
Correct Example A:
Cut out all nested quotes from grasszila and reply to HAL only -
How would we know they went to Heaven (or where they went).
(Tim cuts out unneeded nested quote and quotes only HAL and says)
They would know because ...
Correct Example B -Simply reply to HAL as follows and doesn't use a quote (HAL knows what he has already said in the thread) -
(Tim says)
HAL, they would know they went to Heaven because ...
Please stop using these large nested quotes. If I see anyone doing it from now on I'm going to point you back to this notice.
Thanks.
