Banks foreclosing on churches in record numbers

It just breaks my heart churches are held to the same forclosure standards as the rest of the country...

Quote
Churches are among the final institutions to get foreclosed upon because banks have not wanted to look like they are being heavy handed with the churches," said Scott Rolfs, managing director of Religious and Education finance at the investment bank Ziegler.
&)

For example...

Quote
Solid Rock Christian Church near Memphis, Tennessee, took out a $2.9 million loan with the Evangelical Christian Credit Union [ECCU] at the beginning of 2008, to construct a new, 2,000 seat, 34,000 square-foot building to house its growing congregation.

In the middle of construction, the economy crashed. The church raided its savings to finish the project, but ended up defaulting on the loan.

The ECCU foreclosed and put the church up for auction....

"And some pastors have not notified their congregants," Adams said. "They are fearful that if they do, they will lose congregants prematurely."

hmmm, and I'm guessing they are praying to their god so they can make the mortgage so, god doesnt' give a damn?  and of course each sect has to have its very own thousand seat magic god house to show how great they are.  Nope, can't worship together, nope, nope.

I love the concern for losing congregants "prematurely".  Can't squeeze them for their money.

As opposed to losing congregants permanently when it turns out that they misled them?  Yeah, real smart.

The should have asked Peter Popoff to pray for them to receive, as his website says, "divine financial transfers".
Here read a book.  It's free.

You didn't know all all the proceedings from the sales will be evenly distributed to all of us? Or not.
We should pool our money and buy one of these foreclosed mega churches and televise us all busy posting stuff on WWGHA!

If you check out the comments it's amazing how many of them blame Obama for this. It's always somebodies fault except theirs.
How can rich organizations that pay no tax on their income run out of cash to pay their debts? Self angrandizement. Borrowing money to build oversized churches that their congregation doesn't justify just big headed church leaders who wanted some huge building to show off in.

Well if you ever wanted proof that the lord does NOT provide this is it.

^As you said, it's not their fault.  Their desperate to point the finger of blame to anyone but themselves.  They won't say that this is God's will so it obviously had to be Satan's doing.  And since many think that Obama is Satan, it doesn't come as a surprise to me that they will be quick to blame him.

Forclosing on churches is a good start, shut them all down and we're really getting somewhere.

Why can't God do something about this?

Why can't God do something about this?

Even god doesn't have enough money.
