You are stuck on semantics.

For the fundamentalist, politics....and all else....is religion.

For the atheist to face a fundie directly on politics, nothimg can be achieved. Just a screaming match.

Bettter to use money and ads and politicians. Even if they be hypocrites.

Start a topic: atheists and politics.

I am stuck on you saying silly things.  If you can't be bothered to put enough thought into what you type that you end up saying what you mean, then don't type.
I have not encountered any mechanical malfunctioning in my spirit.  It works every single time I need it to.

I happen to be an atheist, just like I happen to be a woman.  it's what reality is.

OK you win. Now what?

I've been here a week or so. I have not seen too many actual discussions.

I don't care so much about winning as I do about things making sense.

OK.

This whole thread does not make much sense.

The anthropology of pride and honor still interests me. It's been with us as long as we have killed our neighbors.

The options given by Ricky in the poll don't, on the whole, make much sense.  But the question itself does, as shown by many of those who've responded to the question so far.

I never noticed the "other" at the bottom. So I could change from WTF to other. It is not something I am proud or ashamed about. It is more of an end of a private journey that does not need to be tooted about.

Never really thought about it much.....being an aboriginal I despise religion.....but not being a believer is like breathing,I don't really think about it much.

I have no "pride" in being an atheist, I simply am.  Being an atheist does not define me to the world or to myself.  I did not have to do a lot of gut wrenching soul searching or study to decide there is no god, I simply did.  Actually it is only very recently that I've put the label "atheist" upon not believing in a deity.

For the record, yes, I  was once a believer and read the entire Bible (it's the name of a book, like The Lord of the Rings) so I am very familiar with Christianity and its workings.  An irony in being an atheist is that I work for a religious organization, but in a secular capacity.

The aboriginals here in Canada have their own faith traditions.  ;)

Of course many were converted to Christianity and as everywhere else we have a large number of abuse scandals here.

What country are you from?
