Hello again ...
« on: November 01, 2011, 02:22:40 PM »
Hi everyone! I'm not new, but it's been a long time since I've been on here and I see a lot of new faces, so I hope you don't mind a re-intro. I'm an artist, a breast cancer survivor, and have never believed in god. Any god. My username is Traveler because at the time I joined up I lived and traveled in my RV. After five years I finally parked my rig and bought a house with my mom back east. I love it here, and am rebuilding my life after my cancer battle. My dad was agnostic all his adult life and my mom believes that god is a vague concept referring to universe, energy, or whatever. In other words, I grew up in a secular home, so have not undergone the de-conversion that many of you have.

I've been feeling philosophical lately, so thought I'd come back and see what interesting things we can discuss. I'm happy to see you all again, and look forward to making new friends of those who've joined since I dropped off the face of the internet.  ;)

Hey. I don't remember your username (although I don't remember many usernames anyway, so that doesn't mean much) but welcome back.

Hi Traveler, I'm glad you are well.  I too have needed a break from the exhausting experience of debating theists, but still provide the "Quote of the Day" here.

Hey, glad to see you back as well! I'm not one of the more prolific posters here, but always enjoyed reading you, and had wondered how you were doing...and hoping for the best. So happy that you are doing well.

Meant to say welcome back at IGI. Really glad to know that you are doing well. Was a little worried when we didn't hear from you for so long.

Thanks, urs! I had a rough year or two, and right in the middle of chemo my computer died. I didn't have the energy (or money) to shop for a new one, so only occasionally logged on at the library. I lost touch with a lot of folks during that time.

Hi Traveler,

I didn't realize you were old guard - but nice meeting you.

And urs, welcome back yourself, it's been six months, where've you been?

Working on the new hair-style?  :)

Which does look good.

And thanks for the +1 for my old joke!

Gnu.

Hi Traveler,

I didn't realize you were old guard - but nice meeting you....

Thanks! Yup, I was around way before the new site was opened up. My avatar was an abstract atom most of the time. I'll probably go back to that if I can dig up the file, then maybe more folks will remember/recognize me.
