@kin hell

Actually homie, let me put it like this.  I used to DJ open mic events.  I'm still down to do those, I just mean I used to do them more often.  And in open mic events there are always aspiring thug rappers.  Rappers with no name, talking about they'll kill niggas dead.  Rappers who will kick a lot of ignorant shit about violence and what have you.  And when you listen to a lot of that shit, it can get downright cartoony.  What I mean by Tempz being in on the joke, is that it seems like he's acknowledging that fact in the video.  This shit feels mad cartoony when you hear it.  And when you see it on video, it feels like it's like rap ignorance taken to its logical conclusion.  "Won't get none of your CDs back!"  That's my shit, son.

Anyway, I think I've posted this song before.

I think I've also shared the fact that homegirl looks almost exactly like my ex-girlfriend, my big-ex, in this video.  And the shit is weird because she doesn't look anything like her in normal lighting.  I think it's her lips and especially her hair that does it.  My pops was just talking about her too (my ex, not homegirl singing) and the shit frustrated me to no end.  Dude talks about me getting back with her as if it's some obvious solution, as if we haven't tried and failed to make it work time and time again.  But that's probably my fault.  I feel ike I should probably invite her to family functions since they know each other, we're still cool with each other, and she is, in fact, a delight.  Or maybe, he just wants grand kids.  I don't know.

Peace to y'all.  I feel like I can be more open here than in places where I use my name.  Thank you fer letting me indulge myself.

thanks for taking the time Timo

I understand now and I agree, he does appear to push the cartoon/aware throughout the vid, and if he isn't deliberately caricaturing  then it's sad.
I had an immediate family connection into the first hiphop (beasties meets public enemy)  band down in Tasmania and watched over the years some hilarious thug-life posturing from some really lame frailties (really nice lads being tough in ever so safe Tasmania) some of the music and writing was pretty impressive even that far away from the rest of the planet, and some of the beats were as good as I've heard.

Bloke you realise with how divergent english has got these past decades that if I ask for clarification it really is because I didn't "get" what you meant.
Plus mate, I started wild colonial boy surf bum south-edge-of-the-planet Tassy boy and you are, where you are at now, from where ever you started, and where ever you been on the way to now, a different world away ..........is it any wonder that our lingo'd comms needs interpretation every so often?

and I know exactly what you mean about the ease of this place
friends at a distance coupled with the travellers' anonymity where that stranger hears the deepest secrets ...then gets off at the next stop.

strangely expanded monkeysphere  ....... our weird family that we don't blue with at christmas.

Ayo son, do you have any links to some Tasmanian hip-hop?  I'd love to hear that.  Especially some old school shit.

Anyway,

This is such a big fucking song.  I'm almost glad it didn't really break here in the US because you can still play it today and people act like it's new.  And to this day, I don't know whether the edit is iller than the dirty version.  The edits are so perfect.

Also, peace to cousin for wearing LA caps throughout that whole video.

I fux with this one.

I like that they alternate between the big pop hook and a dancehall verse instead of a house verse, which is what they seem to be doing on most dance tracks.

Ayo, I've played this track for a handful of people and the consensus has been that son murders this track, something ridiculous.  As I've said, I've tried to break UK hip-hop to US audiences.  Honestly, listening to a lot of mainstream hip-hop, I think that we could use a British invasion.

Awesome band. :)

More videos are being uploaded of Wacken, going through them right now, so this post is a week late (as I'm not listening to it 'now'". Dimmu Borgir was pretty cool, a bit weird watching a Black Metal band with a full orchestra in the background, it makes them a lot less scary ;), but then it's appropriate given their symphonic style:

In Flames had a great opening, but there's no good videos of it up yet. Hopefully an official one gets uploaded as they're usually good quality. If they had a decent video I'd post it,

Oh well, been rocking out to some awesome Korpiklaani today:

I can't give you direct links, (I know of none and cannot find any >but must admit to being so far outside that connected life now that I cannot be sure<)
I can't imagine much, if anything, was ever recorded back in the day at Tassy live venues.

I am however attempting to get permissions (it's family and I do not want to tread on toes) to post here or maybe PM some stuff that I do have on disc.

Real talk.  That shit makes me feel all warm and fuzzy.  And not just because it's still like 70 degrees in the middle of the night right now.  The second one especially.  Because it's like, I'm thinking back to when I was a youth, trying to be a rapper and make beats and all that, doing little demos and what not.  Back then the goal was to press up a 12 inch, which I sadly never did.  Little did I know half way around the world there were cats in Tasmania with the same vision.  That's crazy to me.  I'm not sure how exactly to say it, but I almost feel more connected with the rest of the human experience for seeing that, even though underground hip-hop in the mid to late nineties is such a specific specific thing.  And it was experienced on such a local level.  I think it's just a matter of understanding how many locales that thing touched.  I don't know.  I'm rambling.  Thanks for sharing that, man.

As earnest as dude sounds, I can only describe this song as adorable.

Peace to my little brother for hipping me to it.  His words "this nigga sound like....he sounds hella from Africa."  (As the song progresses) "Ayo, for real, you ain't never have a good time, my nigga?"

I'm sorry.

More Metal with Latin influenced guitar work. ;)

And yay, In Flames Wacken 2012 is on the YouTubes, full concert (minus last few songs) too:

What I'm loving about this year's is that many of the full concerts were televised on German TV, meaning there's plenty of coverage of the songs.

I've not spotted myself in it yet, but I am near the big opening in the crowd (where there was a huge puddle). It was very, very wet and muddy. :)

It has been a very long time since I have listened to them, and this song to me is still one of the best songs ever made! It is so emotional and atmospheric, that I believe it is one of those songs that would be the definition of black metal, or if it has to be in the subgenre, symphonic black metal.

This is one of those songs that can reliably make me cry like a baby.  I don't think I've ever not teared up when he sings "I saw the thunder and heard the lightning.  And felt the burden of his shame."

Loving this song off of their newest album, which just came out, but looks like it's causing quite a stir because of the name.
