@kin hell

I don't know why but the human brain seems to be tied to music. I only have a very very limited emotional range but when I listen to music, emotions new to me spring up and take form. The usual angry, dperessed, happy and other everyday emotions give way to much more intense emotions brought about by sensations that I just can't quite explain. Words like "butterflys in  the stomach" and "awe" just don't do it justice.

Instrumentals and certain choral styles seem best at bringing these sensations though.

Take these for example:

It sounds "raw." Its good but I feel like it needs some ambiance or harmony that ties the vocals and the instruments together. Maybe, a complimentary melody from a bass giutar?

Then again, some people do prefer the "raw" sound.

Yes I must admit I love some music sparse, raw, raunchy or clunky, it's like taking the supressed/repressed blue cheese out of the fridge and giving it time to warm the pungent up.
The flavour becomes rich and ripe enough to fill the space.

Save your sermons
for someone who is afraid to love

If you knew what I feel
Then you wouldn't be so sure

Ill be right here
lying in the hands of god

I am in love with nothing less
teardrops of love run down my face
I will
Rise

^^^DMB good choice.  Not for religious reasons obviously, but many religious songs are very good.  That's what I think you guys have been debating for a few posts.

Yeah I love that band. Actually Dave is an agnostic - you can take that song both ways. I think it is just a protest against dogmatic-ism.

bosey   I meant to say great cover of shout
tears for fears weren't my cup'o'tea at all but typically the "disturbed" version seems to suit me better.

Yeah they have a tendency to make good remakes.  This is one of Genesis's Land of ConfusionWay better in my opinion.  Not quite the level of Johnny Cash with Hurt or Sinead O'Connor's Nothing Compares 2 U.

this ties into two recent streams
first.. regarding what music delivers...when Annette Strean hit's the first fulltilt chorus line "I feel love" with that great glorious smile, it just runs chills right through me.  .....................I am in love

secondly.... it's a classic remake

I must say  ...I hated living through disco  ...hated it  ...it killed live bands in pubs for limp safe (even white blokes can dance to this mono fucking rythymic ) pap, ............and yet every so often along would come a stunner
Donna Summer off her face  leading into disco-electronica with style and beauty

Open to everything happy and sad
Seeing the good when it's all going bad
Seeing the sun when I can't really see
Hoping the sun will at least look at me

Focus on everything better today
All that I needed I never could say
Hold on to people, they're slipping away
Hold on to this while it's slipping away

Hey, it's my birthday. How about that? So it goes.

So I'm allowed to listen to some uncool stuff, OK? I love this, for when the drums kick in at 1:20:

... and Dire Straits are so uncool, but Mark Knopfler can sure play the geetar (and beautiful interplay with the pedal-steel):

And Coldplay. Definitely uncool, but I love them:

98.9 FM -- soft rockin' roll.  Though, I do miss when 105.9 (Orlando area) was the oldies (50's/60's) but now it's POP.

@bosey

Long story short, everytime you view embedded videos it costs the server of the site bandwith.
"Keep calm and carry on"

"I trust you are not in too much distress"
