Hey guys...just found this iste and love it.

Name is Will, I'm a 32 yr old soldier currently residing in Okinawa, Japan.  Grew up in a very fundamentalist family which basically required me to be well versed in the scriptures, but the more I read, the more I became the black sheep of the family, and now I am a full blown atheist who loves studying religion, science, and the like.

Hope to be around for a while and maybe provide some input here and there.

Truthfinder:the birds adapt and change through million of years in order to survive ,is that science, then cats should evolve also wings to better catch the birds
Mailbag:On a side note, back in college before my conversion, I actually saw a demon sitting next to me in critical thinking class.

Welcome Poveglia!

Back in 1964, I was a two year old child, living in Wakkania, Japan.  My dad was Air Force, and stationed there for a spell.  I have memories of huge snow drifts that reached as high as second story windows around our housing complex.  I also remember dropping toys out of the window, and watching them disappear into the soft snow.  Fun times, I suppose.

Glad to hear you found the dark side, where the only light that matters is the bright spotlight upon the dark corners of delusion where God still seems to thrive.

Welcome Poveglia. Oh what I wouldn't have given to have access to the internet when I was stationed in England back in the early 70's. Phone calls to the states were literally close to a buck a minute if I remember right. And I was making $96 a month.

Hope you enjoy hanging around here. It's nice to be someplace where the majority agrees with you. I live in a small town in Montana and I'm pretty sure I'll be in the minority here for the rest of my life. But at least I'm one of the gang here at WWGHA and we'd like to have you be one of us too.

Oh, and thanks for your service. Wish you guys could just be helping us maintain the peace instead of being shot at.

Welcome to the forum.
You can't convince a believer of anything; for their belief is not based on evidence, it's based on a deep seated need to believe.
