Did George Washington Exist?

Noumenon:
Of course there is always last-Tuesday-ism...

There is no past, no future, only the present.

Catch it while you can.

Codswallop:
Let's all just agree that you need to have at least as much evidence that an historical figure existed as we have for George Washington. If you can't even do that much, you're probably dealing with a largely mythological person, and you shouldn't do anything too outrageous based on the idea that this person actually lived.

Like say, donate 10% of your gross income to any institution.

Or dunk yourself (or anyone else) in water.

Or eat crackers and grape juice and call it flesh and blood.

Or waste your education dollars at a "Bible College."

Or alienate perfectly nice people by "witnessing" to them about the "miracles" your god has done in your life--"miracles" of a perfectly non-supernatural nature that happen every freakin' day of the week.

Or form negative opinions of ethical, generous and even brilliant people simply because they do not share allegiance to the same unsubstantiated mythology as you.

Now wouldn't that make sense?
