Should we believe in belief?

We must not preserve the myth of God – it was a useful crutch, but we’ve outgrown it

I am confident that those who believe in belief are wrong. That is, we no more need to preserve the myth of God in order to preserve a just and stable society than we needed to cling to the Gold Standard to keep our currency sound. It was a useful crutch, but we’ve outgrown it. Denmark, according to a recent study, is the sanest, healthiest, happiest, most crime-free nation in the world, and by and large the Danes simply ignore the God issue. We should certainly hope that those who believe in belief are wrong, because belief is waning fast, and the props are beginning to buckle.

what kind of reasoning is this not to believe in belief do you believe that, I mean really I think like so many people you have taken your opinion as your belief but no matter wat you believe that witch is, is even if you do not see it.

don’t be so proud and intellectual that you discard all logic
that is in it’s self foolish, you might think many to be fools who believe in something that you chose not to but you need as much faith to believe what you believe as anyone else does, that is fact your evidence is not concrete and solid you still need Hope.

A funny phenomena on the blogs is the claim of “recent studies”. The only recent study on Denmark appears to be other blogs parroting this claim on Denmark.

The “happiest study” credits high taxes that creates a society of 5 million people dependent on the government to take care of everything. Possible with just a small number of people & a society where everyone is forced to work for their piece of the pie. No worries, be happy! They also don’t allow illegal aliens to drag down the system.

This little nation only has 5million people

….What just and stable society? One can only get as much justice as one can afford to either pay for or get through some alliance with back door political favor. American society alone has become quite unstable economically and otherwise and the rest of the world is fairly ticked off about it.
….Then you hold up Denmark as though they are the beacon of the world and you claim its like happy disney like existence there but since they legalized drugs, big dangerous drug dealers from other countries have descended on them and itsa no so happy now eh? lotsa violence. That was “recently” reported by CNN.
Do we want to pay 63% tax rate?
…. I detect a tone of arrogance in your post so I am not surprised you hold up a country which has legalized that which Religious people of all types would consider sin and which even a non believing psychologist would tell you is counterproductive to happiness.
