This is like an opinion question? Well, yes of course it is. Google all the charity organizations. We would be in a terrible fix without the christian charities.

What about the NON-christian charities? The money spent on printing and distributing bibles and other crap would be best off going somewhere else.

The real question is, could the Christian charities still exist without Christianity? Would people have the proper motivation to help their fellow man without religion?

Altruism is certainly possible without religious belief, but if Christianity was eliminated, would we see a sharp drop in altruism as well?

If so, then is the philosophy of Jesus necessary for altruism? Is the fear of Hell necessary for altruism? Which one is the more prevalent reasoning?

Where do you come up with this fear of hell? How about the motivation being “Love your neighbor as yourself”? If atheist desire to belittle Christians, they really should learn their doctrines.

The Bible doesn’t teach if you don’t give you go to hell. The only thing that sends you to hell is not accepting Jesus as savior. The rest comes out of knowing Jesus. I believe that is the basic tenet of the faith.

I once read the top 3 charities were the Red Cross, Salvation Army & the SBC. You can play If and But but the bottom line is Christianity produce charities, hospitals and humanitarian aid in great masses. But I don’t expect many atheist to give credit where credit is due. Thankfully the work goes on as others bad mouth these people and their beliefs

why do you claim to hate christian or any christian based organization? You fail to realize the land you live in is founded by people of christainity and clearly almost every monument and organization of this land has references to God( Lincoln monument, Decalaration of Independence, U.S. currency, so on and so forth. Even your president wants to return to the foundation of what this country was build by. If you hate christainity so much why dont you leave the US? (just a question do not take as an offense)

Well, my son, nobody’s claiming to hate anybody here but you. With you doing the hating. I hate that.

The currency and pledge debacle were done in what is called the Red Scare.

    Why don’t YOU leave?

I see who is the hater now.. This is a nation founded by fathers who believed in God and believed that it will flurish with God’s guidance.. Why would I leave if I stand by those roots too? please when you come up with a significant objection.

My dear Jesus, This is clearly a site which the majority of its members “hate” God and His followers..

All I was asking was a easy question which has a simple answer to it, not a question that provokes arguement.

I at no time said that they were Christian. I said that they believed in a God. Even though, George Washington beliefs are still in conflict if he should be a Christian or not. And for Thomas Jefferson, I recommend a book “Sworn on the altar of God”. Regardless, God is implemented in this country’s foundation.

Son, you assumed it was YOUR god. (There’s no need to capitalize it unless talking about Dad, who stole the word in general. Talk about selfish, eh?)

If you’re 8 & 9, you contradicted yourself. I don’t do that because I’m too busy by appearing on toast!

There’s no “hate” so much as Bile Fascination. Although if they wanted to hate my followers, they would have a good excuse(s).

Originally, this land belonged to the American Natives, who didn’t believe in any god (Note the lack of capitalization.) I should know because I took a sharp left during Ascension. Why don’t you go back to where you came from?
