The danger of religion – How Christians brainwash children

This is sick, and sad. These 2 should be arrested for child endangerment and abuse, and the parents as well. This is but a small sample of type of world Sarah Palin would endorse had she and McCain had won.

Wow, Brian what a dangerous statement. It seems more and more atheist position is believe like us or as Sam Harris puts it destroy those who will not follow the dogma. I hope you guys never gain any real power or we maybe looking at gulags or concentration camps again.

I disagree with a lot of groups but I support their right to have their opinion. I think of the Blank Panthers, the KKK and the Aryan Nation of brotherhood. All despicable groups but as long as they obey the laws I support their right to speak.

What these guys teach these kids is something people believed for thousands of years. Hardly child endangerment.

    Here’s what Lou believes:

    6If thy brother, the son of thy mother, or thy son, or thy daughter, or the wife of thy bosom, or thy friend, which is as thine own soul, entice thee secretly, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which thou hast not known, thou, nor thy fathers;

    7Namely, of the gods of the people which are round about you, nigh unto thee, or far off from thee, from the one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth;

8Thou shalt not consent unto him, nor hearken unto him; neither shall thine eye pity him, neither shalt thou spare, neither shalt thou conceal him:

9But thou shalt surely kill him; thine hand shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterwards the hand of all the people.

10And thou shalt stone him with stones, that he die; because he hath sought to thrust thee away from the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.

Gern are you bipolar? So does Gern want to have museum police that would lock up all those who do not stick to the script. That’s all we need, more government. The danger is when we begin to tell everyone how to think.

That is incredible how they accuse the fossil dating of using circular reasoning, when just a minute earlier they were explaining that obviously a tyrannosaurus didn’t have big teeth for eating meat because animals didn’t eat meat before The Fall.

Bottom line: Science and Creation are wrapped around each other. Yes, there were dinosaurs, but God created them. Yes, dinosaurs died from an unknown reason, but God chose them for extinction. I think that these men who took the kids on tour did a good thing, but they shouldn’t have acted so ignorantly about the dinosaurs themselves. Anyone care to disagree?

Yeah, that’s pretty much child abuse. These people are, quite literally, hindering the development of these children’s minds, like poisoning them with chemicals that attack the brain. It is really no different. It is sad, sick, violence against children.

They would be on safer ground challenging the theory of gravity than the theory of evolution. I guess they do that at a physics facility, though, not a natural history museum.

    Bella: “Anyone care to disagree?”

What I want to know is if you are a Christian, what are you doing about other Christians (like these people) who do wrong deeds that promote ignorance in the name of Christianity?

If you are not doing anything about your fellow Christians when they do something wrong, then I feel it is my moral duity to talk Christians out of their religious beliefs so that there are fewer people promoting ignorance or even bigotry, harm, and death.

That’s why I’m here. If Christians would step up and right the wrongs done in the name of Christianity, I would not care what you or anyone else believes in private. Knock yourself out.

Wow. This just stuns me. It’s shocking.

I mean, how many evolutionists make their children repeat force-fed ideas like that, and push YOUNG children into being argumentative, the way they are doing in this video?

It’s so fearful and defensive of them.

It’s amazing. I mean if they are so right don’t you think a child who grows up will be able to make sense of it. I mean, I was taught this shit too, and at a certain age it just didn’t make sense to me anymore. And it’s not because of what I was taught in school. It’s because of scientific facts my FATHER had told me about. Facts that he just seemed to think fit into our beliefs. It’s astounding. Astounding how blind people make themselves.

It seems that each generation since “intelligence tests” were created are becoming smarter, (according to numbers derived from those tests).

Given the psychological tendency to generalize and the widespread teaching of the scientific method, I don’t think that religion can continue to dominate the thinking of so many people over time.

Some of those children will join the reality-based world, but unfortunately many of them will likely be psychologically and emotionally damaged for life.

Explain to a ten year old that God is in fact made up…he’ll be over it by the morning, and no worse off probably! Perpetual nonsense the lot of it. And shamefully, as antiquated cultural supposition, it will probably be our cross to bear forever…but of course, this is no place for logical hypothesis…

You will never get gulags from atheists.

    tick tick tick…done

  17. on 12 Apr 2010 at 6:34 am 17.Severin said …

„Maybe we should take Sev’s right to have an opinion.“
Yes, it is typical to expect this from someone having no arguments: take other people right to have different opinion.
You would like it, wouln’t you, but those times are passed.

“Um, er, Communism? Communism state religion=Atheism? Yeah, yeah, its ok Sev.”

Communism appeared in Europe at times when there were absolutely no atheists in any country, if you do not count Marx & Co as significant number.
Communism was accepted in Russia from 99.99% highly religious population.
It was also accepted in China by population which was some 100% religious.

Fascism (not only communism!), as a bloody regime, was accepted in Italy and Germany BY DEMOCRATIC ELECTIONS (!), after both populations had oportunity to LISTEN (for years!) what leaders of those regimes have to offer!
How many atheists were there in Germany and Italy at the beginning of 20th century to VOTE for fascists? None!

    Why those regimes won?
Because they offered paradise on earth, instead after death, TO DESPERATE RELIGIOUS PEOPLE.

Why those regimes fighted other religions?
Of course, as all other religions di: they would not like to have competition!
Their „ideology“ and their leaders were religions and gods, and (exactly as other religions!) after they did not fulfill their promises (paradise on earth), they used force and crimes to keep themselves on power.

So communism (and fascism) = religion.

If there were significant % of atheists in those countries at that time, communism and fascism would NEVER win. Atheist have critical mind, and would not permit such monsters to take power.
In despair, religious people were tricked by power hungry babblers!
And those babblers were NOT atheists! They were gods, behave as gods, and required people to worship them!

What differs such regimes from religions? Nothing!

  18. on 12 Apr 2010 at 6:42 am 18.Severin said …

Stalin, Hitler, Mao, etc, were NOT atheists!
    They were “gods” themselves!

They had forbidden other religions not because they were atheists, but to have competition in worshiping!

Again and again: communism, fascism = religion

Sev my man, you can keep on selling yourself this revisionist view of history if it makes you feel better. People did not vote communism into office, they took the office and they killed anyone practicing any religion. People also were not worshiping Stain! (LOL) Where do you come up with this stuff? The gulags were full of the religious. Now if you are making the argument atheism is a religion, then you MAY have one point but that would be it.

I suggest you read some history books since you view of history is obviously quite faulty and limited.

“Yes, it is typical to expect this from someone having no arguments: take other people right to have different opinion.”

But Sev, you don’t respect the rights of others to have opinions? Why should you get to have one? See you post #15.

  21. on 12 Apr 2010 at 7:40 pm 21.Severin said …

“People also were not worshiping Stain!”

They literally waorshiped Lenin and continued to worship Stalin, untill they saw there was no promissed paradise on earth.
Before religion was forbidden in USSR (not to compete “living gods!”), common people made orthodox priests to make liturgies in churches in glory of Lenin! Then, when people saw what is going on, it was too late!
I live in Europe, close to ex-USSR. As my country was a part of eastern block, I know wery well what was going on here (and there!). Religion was not formally forbiden in my country, but communist coppied religious rithuals very closely! I am old enough to remember many things, and I DID study history just to explain myself such stupid things as “proleteterian revolution” in a country with no proleters (Russia, 99% agricultural country wtih feudal structure, no proleters at all), appearance of fascism in religious countries (Italy, germany), etc.

“People did not vote communism into office, they took the office and they killed anyone practicing any religion.’
How many atheists were there to kill the actual (religious) government, actual (religious) army leaders, actual (religious) population (some 150 millions of them at that time!)?
Majority of (religious!) people in Russia DID accept communist government! If you do not accept reasons for that I offered, O.K. tell me yours, but they DID accept communism!
Beacause communism and fascism have structures VERY similar to religions, and are attractive to illiterate poor masses. As easy to seduce poor and uneducated people with communism and fascism, as with religions!

Of course, you do not mention Italian and German fascists, which DID win legal elections, after years of propaganda full of hate and empty promisses, in countries in which you could not find almost a single atheist.

  22. on 12 Apr 2010 at 7:56 pm 22.Severin said …

“Now if you are making the argument atheism is a religion,..”
I did not say ATHEIS was religion, but COMMUNISM and FASCISM behaved VERY SIMILAR to religions.
They propagued “atheism” for one and only reason: to exterminate any competition. Their philosophy was never REAL atheism; they tried to replace religions themselves.
Facts are talking themselves: both communism and fascism took roots FIRST in religious countries! Atheists, or not atheists, the leaders/initiators of those bloody regimes were MINORITY in their countries! They would NEVER take power without support of (religious!) population. If you think they would, explain how! A few babblers had no way to win power by force, but ONLY by methods similar to methods religions use to seduce people. terror came later (axactly as christianity: first brotherhood, love…than Inquisition, religious wars, hate…!)

Giving children an option to believe in creation and forcing them to believe are two different things. If someone wants to believe in something it’s like Heaven’s Gate or something. However harmful it is people have the option to believe whatever they want. But I grew up in a fundamentalist “Christian” environment where if I had said that I believe in evolution at say age 9 my parents would have literally forced me to believe in creation. I think that’s the difference between free-thinking and brainwashing, you actually give the person the option to believe what they want.

All religions are false. They all claim they are the “way” bla bla bla. Most if not all, belittle women in one way shape or form. Religions have been created by the people in power who rule the earth so they can brainwash the population. John Lennon said it best…” Imagine”

  25. on 11 Aug 2012 at 10:38 am 25.Clay said …

Wow! Such alot of nonsense and so few years for these children to get the real truth about geology and the fossil record. It seems criminal to withhold the evidence of evolution and the age of the earth from these dear children. In a sense, it’s almost like the theocratic lies that are spouted off in the Middle East. Scary part is that these Christian Creationists are trying to use money, lawyers, and a twist on truth to gain access into the public school system. These people are dispicable. Have they even studied evolution? Have they gone out into the lava fields and limestone deposits and learned about the age of the earth? I think not. Nor have they studied the rock record of the Grand Canyon, and those who do will be quick to put on their bible goggles, making it hard to see through the muddy waters of Biblical myth.
I am proud to say that I am a recovering brainwashed Christian. The addiction is harder to overcome than heroine. That’s why these older men proudly boast that they have truth when in fact they are lieing to children. They are addicted and brainwashed into the biggest cult on earth.
This cult will thrive and survive as long as the “Carrot and Stick” scenario is forced and reinforced on those that attend Christian services. The Carrot is the rewards that the Christian God offers to those who obey. Carrots equate to riches,(either on this earth or in the after life), the spouse of your dreams, a decent job, and happiness. When one does not see the carrot rewards fulfilled, it is usually assumed that the person has some dreadful sin in their hearts. The stick is the threat of punishment for those who do not obey. It is represented by eternity in hell when one dies, God’s judgement and wrath on this earth, and a general fear that bad things are going to happen to the disobedient.
The funny thing about that carrot and stick is that when one looks around them they will find that everyone, whether religious or not, is doing about as good, better, or worse as anyone else, depending on the decisions they make. The carrot and stick is one of the sickest forms of brainwashing because there is simply no truth behind it.

And for those that have never seen Jesus Camp, I just want to say for the record, it is not a trumped up political tool to demonize the “Right”. Jesus Camp is an actual fact. I went to Assembly of God camps up in the mountains when I was growing up and they were very similar, excluding the paper doll of Bush however.

behavior. Right? but if theirs a church service in the park and take my kids id be considered a brain washer and I’m sure someone would be offend by it so the take it to supreme court. Right? Cant i have freedom of religion too??

why can’t the kkk have their freedom. after all the majority in this country believe in the same god.

why can’t these liberals just leave the clansmen alone. the clan have their code and it’s a good one.
